Are plantians bad if I am trying to cut down?

I used to eat alot of junk food and sweets but now I am eating traditional spanish food. I have lost of weight because everything is in moderation now. But now I want to loose more and dont know if eating plantians twice a day is a good idea and for lunch I eat rice. Sometimes I eat yuca too instead of plantians. So what I am wondering is if plantains are good carbs or bad and if I should eat it.

  1. Do you mean fried plantains? If so I'd say keep it down to like once a week.

    Raw plantains twice a day shouldn't be a problem.


  2. They are definitely good.  They have a lot of fiber which slows do the absorption their natural sugars.  It will depend greatly how you prepare them.  If you like them fried, than you will want to consider cooking them with a different method.
