  1. Yes, they are a great idea but.....

    There is a need to get the electricity in a cleaner way. Also the batteries are expensive to replace when they fail, and they do.


  2. might be good if any were actually being built [outside of a few high priced experimental modals]..with the poor quality batterys of today and hybred is a must

  3. Interesting topic.

    It really depends on what type of power station is supplying the electricity to recharge your vehicle (eg coal/nuclear power station - not so good. Wind powered? Not so bad....)

  4. If you plug it in, it's an electric car.  A hybrid uses a gasoline engine to produce electricity to power the car, and sometimes assist the electric motor.

    If the battery technology was better, electric vehicles would be the better way to go.  However, at this time, they don't have the range that most people would need between charges, and there is no infrastructure (charging stations) for them.
