Are pocket watches more reliable than wrist watches?

I need a new watch so I was wondering which was more reliable. I have always had a wristwatch but fancied a change - I wont get one if they breakdown though. (I read in a book that pocket watches are more reliable AND more dignified, so is this true as well?)

This site sells wrist watches .It may have one for your budget. Ithink a good and cheap watch to consider would be Swatch, Seiko or Casio.
