im thinking buying a X18 4 stroke poket bike and it has head lights, blinkers, tail lights, and i heard that it has to be 22" of the ground also to be street legal.

ive heard some people say that they are and arent.

are they?

im only 14 but it would save ALOT of gas money when im old enough to drive on the road.

  1. its not a practical road going vehicle even if it was street legal. get a real bike and you will be alot more comfortable and still get 50+mpg

  2. It's not illegal to be a toy.

Pocket bikes are toys. To the best of my knowledge, they are not to be used on the road anywhere in the States. They cannot be in NH.

    TITLE XXI

    MOTOR VEHICLES

    CHAPTER 265

    RULES OF THE ROAD

Rules of the Road; Pocket Bike

    Section 265:123-a

265:123-a Operation Prohibited. – No person shall operate a pocket bike upon any way or allow a pocket bike owned by him or her to be operated upon any way. No pocket bike shall be issued a vehicle registration or certificate or title.

  3. pocket bikes are not street legal.

  4. no, they are all smuggled in across the mexican border or grown in someones garage under special lights

  5. They can be legal in certain states, but are to say the least under powered and semi dangerous since the higher vehicles cannot see you very well in traffic. I would go with a scooter or a 250cc or higher class that might set you back a few hundred more in cash, but would be safer, easier to spot you on road, and more power/comfort.

I got a cheapo roketa 257cc scooter for about 1500 and after 3k miles it is still kicking tail. 65mpg easy and top speed of about 60-70 depending on weather.

Example of what I got below

  6. Save your allowance and when your old enough get a real bike.  Pocket bikes are a waste of money.

  7. no they are not legal and poket bikes are not legal
