Are police afraid to give a tickets to those extremely loud motorcycle riders?

Obviously the bikes they are riding have illegal exhaust systems so why don't they get tickets?

It's a fix it ticket, they fix it, get it signed off and make it noisy again.  If more people complained it might change.

Theyre probably afraid the big bad biker dude will do something to them if they give them a ticket.

probably because cops assume they are gang members or something. like h***s angels, you mess one you probably live to see the next day.

or, the cops are like me and just plain dont care.

You know what? I agree with earstealer. Those motorcycle people are irritating and they never get tickets!!! Earstealer may be stealing ears tonightt but be thinking about not hearing those annoying motorcycles. He's doing us a favor.

The way the laws are written, to write the cite we need a decibel meter. We have one in the entire city.  We do set up check points and use it, but every cop can't have one in their car.

Our Alderman told us that 1) They are difficult to catch because they can dart in and out of traffic; 2) many policemen own motorcycles; 3) police feel they have more serious offenders to catch: and 4) they may have to wait there for an hour for a tow truck to show up.  He did say that they often set up a checkpoint on Saturday night and issue numerous tickets, but since many of the bikers are just visiting, there will be a fresh batch the following week.

There is a saying amongst motorcyclists, " Loud pipes save lives". Meaning that because motorcycles are harder to see, having them louder makes them more noticeable. They probably don't give them tickets because they are happy they won't have to clean that guy off the pavement later.

Must be afraid and I agree with you.. we live in a small town and almost every weekend they come roaring in..if I made that much noise with my pickup I would get a ticket... but I guise because they are tourist spenders they get by with it
