  1. No.  The training and authority they have with their agency is enough.  While not required to have a badge on you while carrying off-duty, it is highly recommended so there aren't any mistakes.

  2. No. Any police officer can carry a concealed weaopn with out a permit as they are commissoned to carry the gun. I think President Bush passed a Law several years ago to that fact.

  3. No. HR 218, commonly called The Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act,  was signed into law by President Bush in 2004. It allows any police officer in the United States to carry off duty anywhere in America.

  4. no.  Your ofice quotes the law here

  5. No, in my state(WI) State Statute allows a sworn Police Officer to carry a concealed weapon. No permit needed, just have my Badge and I.D. with me at all times. And as Trooper pointed out we are now allowed to carry a concealed weapon in all 50 states.

  6. No. But they are required to have there badge on them if they are carrying. The sheriff in this county requires his deputy's to carry when they are off duty.

  7. No.  We can carry concealed while off duty in our home State.  There is a reciprocity agreement between the States that basically allows us to carry our weapons concealed in the other parts of the country.  We have to qualify with these weapons and have our credentials with us while carrying them.

  8. What you mean is permit to carry a firearms not concealed weapons permit, why would a police officer concealed his weapon for? I do not understand he is a police officer, not a hoodlum or a gangster. Only gangster or those wanted by the law are the one carrying concealed weapon for obvious reason not police officers.

Yes even police officers are required to carry a permit to carry firearms.
