Are political parties a good thing to have? Why?

Like having Rebublicans, Democrats, Federal Goverment, and etc.

I dont think they are good.

People just automatically decide who they like and who they hate depending on their party.

if there weren't parties, people might be more open minded.

Also, it wouldn't seem so weird to have for example a republican president with a democrat vp. They would be able to keep eachother in check.

Our Founding Fathers didn't think so, but they also knew there is no way to prevent them from being formed without denying basic rights.

So, we try to find a way to live with them...

Kind of like Star Wars, come to the dark side (republicans)

come to the light, we have cookies (Democrats)

everything is controlled and balances, unlike communism haha.

No, they are not good. People in political parties do not think for themselves, the just think whatever the part thinks.

political parties are great when they stick to their beliefs and don't try and pander to the other side, just causes confusion.
