  1. I use traffic radar all the time.

I've never heard of "pop radar".

  2. POP, or 'instant-on' radar is a radar gun that emits a short burst of radar energy instead of the standard radar gun that emits a longer, more constant beam. POP is much more difficult to detect using a cheap radar detector.

In the United States, there is no set rule of what band or type of police radar or laser is used across a state. While state police officers may be issued a standard band or type of radar or laser gun, the radar and/or laser in use by a city, county or municipality can vary and overlap. Often, a speed trap will include 2 or more officers using different bands, or one using radar while the other uses laser (LiDAR). The best radar detectors will alert to all of these radar bands (without alerting to that garage door going up next door).

The only protection against police laser is a laser jammer, which jams the laser gun speed reading while alerting you, allowing you to adjust your speed if necessary, before turning off the jammer. Although most radar detectors will alert to laser pointed at your vehicle, you then have less than 0.2 seconds (2 tenths of a second) to adjust your speed if necessary. Like radar detectors, laser jammers are legal in nearly every state.

  3. doesn't matter what they have theyll never catch me
