I haven't heard the term "hooker" in a very long time.  The more politically correct term is s*x Worker.  This society has such a negative view on s*x.  Without getting into religious debates, what makes s*x inherently wrong?  So if we deem s*x to be part of the natural order of things, what is wrong with being paid for a service?  I don't ever expect to live in a society where s*x workers don't exist.  It has been around for a very long time.  So if we accept their place in our society why not stop stigmatizing them so they can actually get checkups and get checked for whatever you feel makes them "dirty".  Pornstars have become more acceptable on the totem pole and look how much physically healthier they are.
