Are prices in Russia besides Moscow cheaper or more expensive than the US?

I think, that Moscow prices rather cheaper then in USA - food, gasoline, transport fares, everything excepting hotels, clothes and cars ))

If you compare similar areas and consumption patterns, then the cost of living for a tourist would be comparable in Russia to USA. For example, a fashionable resort like Sochi would set you back about the same amount as a comparable US resort.

The locals in Russia spend considerably less through informal economy, much like in the Smalltown, USA -- through barter of favors and services, state subsidies, and knowing all the best deals. Of course, if you look and sound like a tourist, then the informal economy will be off limits to you.

Much much cheaper! Cost of living in Moscow (Owning your own home,  lots of money in Moscow)

But if your going on a vacation then Russia is Cheap!
