Are private lets ever permanent?

i was told when u get a private let u can only live in them for about 5 years then have to move out :/

it would depend on the person renting out the property, the can set the terms and length. It is not uncommon to get a business lease for 25 - 30 years, however, with accommodation it is usually restricted to around 5 years as it is difficult to predict personal circumstances that far ahead and the owner may need to release his capital

it depends on the person who is renting just ask about it, I'm sure they may be happy to have someone who wants to settle down for a while, as it's better for them.
