There was a story about a player sending a video of himself playing to Lincoln City I think. They subsequently took him on trial. The fact that this was a story on Sky Sports News I doubt it happens regurly.

What usually happens with youth players in England is that from an early age (if they are good enough) they will play in higher leagues. From district to regional to then national.

The professional clubs will scout players and invite them to play with the acadamy. I am not sure how someone would fare by asking for a trial.

i`m not sure, but i dont think you have to pay. i believe you get scouted by the team's scouts at games and they ask you to join or try out for they're youth team or academy. i'm not sure wether or not you can just come for them and ask for a tryout, but i doubt it. try contacting the clubs for information.

You have to pay i think because at the end if you're good and you get drafted to the first team then you'll get paid.
