Are projectors as good as a big screen TV?

Question

If I got Lumens high quality projector or something of like it, would it rival a Big screen, or even an HD? I'm looking to project about the size of a 50" bigscreen... I mainly would want it for the Xbox 360.

Absolutely go with a projector and screen!!!

If you can handle a little bit of set up you will be impressed by the visual and audio immersion of gaming on a huge screen.  I have a mits. projector and a tribal screen.  

I would recommend the Panasonic PT-AX200U for a projector.  It is a very bright projector and has a special gaming mode.  Also, get a tribal projector gaming screen from Tribal Screens.

DLP front projectors are far superior to rear projection TVs.
