Are protein bars fattening?

I'm playing football (2 a days at the moment) and having 2-3 protien bars a day

  1. With that much football and activity absolutely not....you're actually going to need all those extra calories to maintain and build muscle.

  5. If you consume more protein than your body uses to rebuilt muscles and tissue then it is converted to fat.  So yes, if you over-do it then they can be fattening  

  6. Everything is fattening if you eat too much of it. What counts most (assuming your diet is reasonably balanced) is the total calories in and the total calories out.
