Question:

Are public universities free? and can a foreign student enroll for free as well?

im not really sure how public systems work because i have been in private schools my whole life. i mean in public universities is it the classes that are free and you pay for the books? and what about dorms?

can a foreign student enroll as well like a local citizen with just a student visa or are the classes just free 4 immigrants and locals?

ps. the unis i am referring to are miami univeristy and the university of washington

  2. you pay for schools no matter wat. even if you went to like a community college youd still pay. public universities are cheaper than private though. you pay for tution for school on your own..unless you get financial aid or grants from school..then youjust pay the school back alter and for now you dont have to worry. finacial aid.you pay back..grants are free money from the school. books..you pay on your ownper class yout ake. and for calsses..each calss is charged by the units..so if the calss has more units..it costs more.

  3. Not at all free.  And, if you not an in-state resident the tuition is even more.  You can find info on each university web page.  In addition to tuition you have lab fees, books (one text can cost 100.00+), other fees if you live in a dorm, plus food service charges.  (college professor)

  4. There are no free colleges or universities in the US.  Everyone must pay tuition, housing, books, food, etc.

    You can visit the universities' websites to see how much it costs.
