I want to take frozen meat with me when I travel to Hamilton Island as the food there is soooo expensive.....will qantas allow frozen meat in either hand or checked baggage?

  1. I once flew from Sydney to Melbourne. During the flight everyone got a little morning snack (which included a muffin sealed in plastic, juice and a banana). I wanted to save my banana for later in the day, but unfortunately upon arrival in Melbourne, all passengers were forced to throw all fresh foods (bananas, but not the muffin or juice) into garbage bins before we could get to the luggage carousels. I assumed the banana was targeted because it was a form of fresh produce as opposed to factory-sealed.

I suggest calling Qantas just to be sure.

  2. Qantas will have no problems.  You might (but probably won't) have quarantine problems.
