Are "Free Ring tones" actually free?

Question

I'd like just ONE good ring tone on my cell phone besides the lousy ones that come with the phone. I'm tempted to try getting a "free ring tone," but don't want my phone to get hacked/spammed by peoples.

no and the bottom it say 9.99 a month and they dont work with your phone there fakes you could go to best buy frys or some where you could get computer and phones they should have a program thats really cheap where you could convert your fave song and make it a ring tone

well it depends how legitimate the website offering is.

I've tried www dot tonethis dot com and it worked out pretty well, depending if you're phone is supported, they have a list of phones that are supported. Not only is it free, but you can choose your song and segment by using their software.

A last note is, its only completely free if you have a data plan on your cellphone plan, if you don't you're still going to be charged for data download or whatever its called.

i wish i rememered the website, but there is a site you can go to and you upload your OWN mp3 on there from your computer and you can cut a 30 second part of the song you want to play for your ringtone and then have the website send the link to your phone in the form of a text. it's not completely free though if you don't pay for internet service on your phone because you have to pay for the gigabites of time you spend online downloading it from the link they send.

i wouldn't trust them. There are manual ways you can get custom ringtones on your phone though. Look up "free ringtone (your phone here) hack" on google, and i'd bet you'd find some results

go to www.myxtertones.com      you will be able to choose what ever you want. ringtones, pics, videos anything you like. you do have to sign up its fast and quick
