Ive noticed lately that when I stand up after sitting down I get light headed for a few moments. This is happening quite a lot recently and I was just wondering if this is a sign of a more serious problem?

Thanks

  1. you need to eat right!

r u on one of those self created low carb diets?!

  2. It's probably a sign of low blood pressure.

  3. Big sign of high blood pressure go see your doctor asap if blood pressure is left untreated you can suffer a clot and a stroke at ANY age whether you smoke or drink or not. get it seen to good luck

  4. I sometimes get a head rush, but usually from when I'm kneeling down to standing and when I'm quite hot, I get a dizzy feeling, but as I said its usually when I'm hot, if your getting them quite often and just from sitting to standing I would perhaps see your doctor just incase, it could just be something as little as your not eating enough of something, or you need more water or sugar, something like that. Definitely have a chat with the doc though, at least to give you peace of mind!

  5. I get them quite a lot so i went for a BUPA health assessment and my blood pressure and pulse were a bit 'elevated', my ekg (electrocardiogram) was a slightly high and by heart was too strong... meaning it was working too hard

I was recommended to go to my GP and possibly get a referral to see a cardiologist

...Not to worry you though, it's just the heart isn't something you want failing! :P
