Are "ultra low-dose" birth control pills less effective than regular/low dose bc pills?

I'm on Kariva (generic of mircette) bc pills.. thx for input!

  1. I was on loestrin24 from what I understand they are not less effective if that were the case then the doctor would have to inform you...most bc if taken properly is 99% effective in preventing pregnancy!  Your pills come with an insert...somewhere in the insert it will indicate the effectiveness.  The only problem that I have read about is break through bleeding and spotting in between periods.
