Are rats very fast runners?

Question

if i were to buy a rat, and it escaped, are they faster runners than hamsters? ive had a hamster it really didnt run but hopped quickly across the floor.

i had two hamster both have gotten away and died *may they R.I.P*

is there any ideas of a really good relaxed slow bet thats a rodent?

Rats are very fast. I have a hard time catching mine when I let it out...

Rats make good pets and if they are socialized enough they won't run away from you when it's time to go back in the cage. They can be taught to respond to there name also. And simple tricks like stay, roll over, and stand up, are easy to teach them. (life span: 2-4 years)

Guinea pigs are relatively slow and low maintenance, they can be fast if they are spooked though. They live for 5-7 years and can be taught simple tricks.

yes rats are super fast!! a hedge hog is fun not even very fast and they are friendly and cute!! :D

rats are really fast... but my sister has a guinea pig and its like really slow and fat so try them

I heard that rats can jump reeeeally high. So they are hard to catch.
