  1. Not for figure skating!

If you just want to go to the rink and hang out, skate a few times a week, just stroke and have fun, then they are pretty comfy. I know alot of coaches that coach in them so their feet wont kill them.

However, if you want to do an axel, don't get these. If you wanna do some singles and some spins you need figure skates, not recreational skates. I recommend jacksons marquis or especially jacksons Freestyles. These will probably get you through singles, and they have enough ankle support without killing you. The ONLY bad part is the break in time, but hey, no pain no gain!

  2. What type of skating are you looking into doing, and at what level? I'd suggest going to your local skating pro shop so they can direct you into the best skates for your ability, and for what type of skating you are planning on doing. Good luck!

  3. If you are looking for FIGURE skates, no they are not, but if you are looking for hockey skates, yes they are it depends obviously on your level.
