  1. Yes it is true, about the same in every capital city here.

    BUT that is gross, from the average you have to take off about 28% for tax. IF you have a family you get about half of your tax back as child benefits.

    There is a national housing shortage at the moment so renting is expensive. Food and fuel have gone up a lot in the past year, but that is the same all over the world. But if you don't want to cook, a simple pasta meal will cost about $12-15 and $2.50 to $3  for a machiato, both made by genuine Italians, as there is a big Italian community in Adelaide ever since the War. My Napolitano partner comes from Adelaide (but we are now in Sydney).

    You do need a working visa to be allowed to work in Australia, but they are not hard to get it you are in an area of industry where there is a shortage. Go and see the Australian Embassy or Consulate for details.
