Are rechargeable batteries are bad for technology (CD players, remotes, portable game systems)?

  1. ONly if the instruction manual says so, then they are but otherwise you can safely use them.


  2. Not that they are bad. They won't harm the gadgets either.

    Only the problem is they can't provide the power like their alkaline counterparts can give.

    Alkalines have 1.5V while rechargeable can only provide 1.2V. If the gadget needs 4 AA for example, that is a total of 6V (4x1.5). If rechargeable is used, 4 of it can only give 4.8V. If the gadget is designed for 6V. Its performance will not be optimized if 4.8V supply is used.

  3. depends on what types of bateries you have also there are nickel metal hydride batteries and I think that they produce 1.2 vdc. nickel cadmium produce the same vdc but have a shorter life that nmh rechargable batteries. Bottom line is that they wont hurt any electronic device. the device just wont work to full preformence.
