  1. It's difficult to say.  The fact that we have record lows a week after record highs in my region is definitely a sign that something isn't quite right.

  2. No.

Global warming refers to climate change that causes an increase in the average temperature of the lower atmosphere.

Global warming does not (and has never been claimed to be) refer to a climate change where it never gets cold or snows anyplace in the world.

  3. All events are attributed to man-made global warming. It's a scientific fact.

    BELIEVE and OBEY.

(Can I interest you in the purchase of some fine carbon credits?)

  4. it has begun

  5. What record low temperatures? Before 1850 much lower temperatures were common. Each winter the Ohio river would freeze solid, usually to Cincinnati some times beyond Paducah, KY.

While global warming may affect weather patterns, a single hot or cold spell in not an indication of anything. Long term pattern is the only true measure.

  6. That means nothing it is just weather it is not global warming.

  7. No. Global Warming is a farce.

  8. Of coarse!

If its a record of any kinds it can be linked to global warming... I mean if we had a record of perfect days... AGW will link that to global warming...

    Life sucks for them

  9. Sure.  Both record lows and record highs are a direct result of global warming.

Both droughts and floods are caused by global warming.

Snow and the lack of snow are both proof that global warming is man made.

Hurricanes?  Yep, them too.  If there is more or less than average, then this is also proof that global warming is man made.

Global warming effects everything, so everything you see is directly caused by global warming.

  10. What record lows?

    Source chapter and verse.

We've just had record highs in Chicago. Were are the record lows?

The North American low of -81.4°F. was recorded at Snag in Canada's Yukon Territory, on Feb. 3, 1947.

The lowest ever recorded in the contiguous 48 States, was -69.7°F (rounded off to -70°F) at Rogers Pass, in Lewis and Clark County, Mont., on Jan. 20, 1954.

  11. AGW is real!

  12. Contributing factor.

  13. What set of record low temperatures are you refering to? You want an iron clad argument from a vague question? To take your question at face value would take a lot of research by a top level scientist. Sort of like talking about El Nino, La Nina, Hurricane cycles, etc. Your question sounds like a reasearch thesis for someone getting their doctorate. Assuming you're not that brilliant: to answer your question involves looking at averages and many other processes and cycles. Not just Los Angeles had a snowfall of 3 feet one day and it got down to

-12F on one day or week THIS year. That's why ice caps figure so largely. Ordinary ice does not melt that fast. Common sense observation. Especially if the water's cold to begin with. So if at the caps of the earth where you have V-A-S-T expanses of ice disappearing more and more quickly, that hasn't been noticed BEFORE, EVER( in recorded or artefact human history-say 10,000 yrs) except for the last 30 yrs, then there is something worth paying attention to, over say a freak temperature drop on a weekend in LA. It takes a tremendous amount of heat coming from somewhere additional to start melting those chunks of ice that are bigger than LA, itself. If these ice chunks melt it changes the ratios of salinity in the ocean because the ice is pure water. When the ratio of salinity in the ocean is changed it affects the ocean currents which keep some places warm even though they are far north and some places cooler even though they are far south. All that mix mash of climates changing due to ocean currents changing is bad news. For farmers and everyone who takes for granted that weather in there area has a particular trend it follows and has been following THAT particular trend for thousands of years. Whether it's man made or not, Global Warming is something worth our governments time and attention. Because whether WE(man) are causing it or not it is not a good thing for us. Our civilizations are pretty much founded and structred around familiar weather trends. To have our general weather trends up-turned whether it's due to volcanoes or cows farting( however it is deemed worthy ignoring) is nothing to assume will be easy peazy to deal with. Only fools scoff because that's what they were born to do. Their ancestors scoffed at the earth being round and other ideas they just mocked because that's what they were born to do. In the midst of catastrope I'm sure they'll find something else worth(in their minds) scoffing about.

  14. No, contrary to popular ethnocentric opinions, there is more to the world than America. Global warming affects the entire Earth, whereas, America represent less then 2% of Earth’s surface area.

  15. it's very possible, it can cause extream weather... when they say warming they there talking about climate not weather. so one day it can be freezing and the next day warm but that still won't make up the climate if makes sence

  16. 'A spokesman for the Royal Society, Britain's leading scientific academy, said: "At present there is a small minority which is seeking to deliberately confuse the public on the causes of climate change.

They are often misrepresenting the science, when the reality is that the evidence is getting stronger every day.'

  17. yes. global warming affects all temoeratures and seasons negatively.

  18. Those facts do not count.  Only facts that support this con job are important.   The recent, and extremely rare,  snow in Bagdad did not count.  Nor does the fact that much of the NE had the snowiest December on record.
