Are red back spiders living in the usa

I LIVE IN INDIANA AND I FOUND A SPIDER IN A OLD DOG HOUSE THAT LOOKS JUST LIKE THE RED BACK SPIDER . THE LOOK OF A BLACK WIDOW WITH BRIGHT RED MARKS RUNNING DOWN THE TAIL .I SAVE IT IN A CUP . WHO SHOULD I CALL TO REPORT.

Contact your local university zoology department, or the nearest one around.  chances are some one there will know what to do with it, or know of someone who does.  It seems the red-back is getting to be an invasive species in certain areas.  If so, sightings like yours may be very important in tracking this invasion.

I just looked up black widow spiders and they look very similar to our redbacks.  The redbacks have a very distincitive solid red stripe on their backs.  The black widows have a red hour glass shape on the tummies - although it looks like some of the juvenile ones also had markings on their backs. I'm pretty confident you have a black widow.  Just plug the 2 spiders into a search engine and you'll come up with lots of pics.  

    If for some really bizarre reason you do actually have a redback I'd call your local council and they'll advise on who best to call.
