Singapore GM claimed at the begining of year 2007 that there is no profits overall so no bonus and increment this year. But all of the staff know that Singapore station is making money. GM refused to release the money we as staff can't say or do anything.

A lot of staff resigned due unable to cope with the keep rising living cost with the pay and no bonus. Who knows the GM announced early this month saying Company is giving last year bonus at the end of this month. Do those resigned staff have the right to claim back the bonus which they should have got early this year? Are they entitled? Is there any rules to refer or department to seek help?

  1. Sounds like you arent going to get your money, sorry.

  2. You could try talking first to the HR department of the company, see where that gets you. If nothing, then keep asking for the next person's boss until you cant go any higher. If GM still isnt paying, then I would contact the Better Business Bureau to see if they can help with dispute resolution. I dont know if this would fall under the SEC, but I doubt it. Other than that, there really isnt much else for you to go. I honestly think its going to be hard to get it.

  3. If they left prior to the issuance of the the bonus from the year prior, then GM does not have to pay them at all.  The persons did so on their own accord and GM is not bound by any law to pay them.  In fact, bonuses and pay increases are not required, so there is also no legal claim for the people who quit either, even if they rightfully deserve that money.
