I'm in Manatee county and want some hurricane action. Do you think the roads are closed in Central and the southern part of Florida where Tropical storm Fay is? I really want to film hurricanes and tornadoes.

  1. None of the roads are closed around where i live (miami near the ocean) but some of the bridges to get here are closed. Don't waste your petrol getting here! Not that exciting. It's not even raining that hard---just drizzling. It is kinda windy though but its a nice breeze!

  2. Yes ,in order to keep out side people away.

  3. call the Florida Highway Patrol

    *347 on your cell phone

  4. you cant really chase a hurricane...its not a tornado...its a big peice of rain that spins...its like a really bad thunder storm...and this one is kind of boring me...i wouldnt want to drive into it there is no real action...

  5. Road will be closed as conditions warrant.  High wind and water on the road are usually the most usual reasons for closing roads during weather conditions such as hurricanes.

  6. they are closed only if they've blown away.

  7. I am here in Melbourne Florida which is the pounding point of TS Fay...yes we have closed roads.  We have fish swimming down our sidewalks there is so much flooding.  It is not that impressive of a storm to film just lots and lots of water.  They are anticipating that we will get as much as 30 inches of rain.  Best advice is to stay in Manatee and enjoy dry land.

  8. Ok I live in Tampa,Fl and there has been absolutely no rain!

It has been nice and sunny all day just like any other day.

The wind is blowing just a tad bit but nothing much.

Yesterday I go into the store and every one is freaking out, there was barely any water left and then we go to the gas station and there wasn't even unleaded gas left cause so many people were freaking out.

I don't get it, its a tropical storm not a hurricane.

I think every one is freaking out so much about it because we haven't had any type of hurricane/ tropical storm in so long that people have just forgot what to do.

And once again I will say this, Fay is a tropical storm, not a hurricane.

  9. I believe the roads are closed but it's not very desirable to go out in those types of weather conditions. good luck though

  10. I am in Florida now, but it seems as if the roads aren't closed. Plus it's not supposed to be a hurricane anymore but a tropical storm. Thats what I heard. But in any other event, depending on how serious the hurricane is, the roads would probably be closed. Thats why everybody gets there shopping done early.

  11. I don't think they close the roads, we are usually not stupid enough to go out driving in the middle of a hurricane. I do know that there was patrolling after one hurricane and we weren't suppose to be out walking around, but driving was still fine but they had to close off some roads. I'm sure they know people have places to go during the hurricane it's just very stupid to drive in them so I'm pretty sure they aren't closed.
