Are rubber bands the last step when wearing braces

Ive had my braces for 16 months. And the estimated treatment time was 18-24 months. I haven't gotten rubberbands yet, and i was wondering if im going even get them, and if when i do get them, its the last part of the treatment.

I had an overbite, and got teeth removed to fix that. So yeah if that helps.

  1. rubber bands are to line up your top and botttom teeth in the proper way and close gaps or in some cases to move a certain tooth. I have had braces for 2 years now and i'm just getting rubber bands and they are to fix my over bite. i had to have an exposer, a surgical procedure that puts a button on a tooth in my gums and pulls it down by a chain. for me rubber bands are my last step because there was something they had to do before that. So if your bite is your only problem now  then rubber bands are your last step i THINK but even then you could have rubber bands for months... :(( i want my teeth to be free too.
