Are rugby boots better with an 8 stud or 6 stud configuration?

I play center for my school rugby team in ireland and i noticed my new kooga boots allow either 6 or 8 studs to be implemented and i was wondering which would be more suitable for optimum speed etc in generally quite wet conditions.

  1. i didnt sure 6 studs cant use or not in rugby..but i think 6 stud is better than 8.8 studs give u more pressure on your foot...I already try it..but in 2nd half, i wear back my blade stud..:-)

  2. The eight will give you more grip but check where the studs are located because you do not want to twist your ankle as you twist and move from side to side. The six may be a better option for the twisting from side to side but not give as much grip for speed in a straight line. However, it is not the boot that makes the difference but the person inside them. have a great time, whatever you choose and always play the game fair and true.

  3. six

  4. wet you want 8 stud. but watch your agility moves on hard ground.

  5. in the winter use 8 stud. in the sunner use 6 stud.

    try muzino

  6. talk to your coach to see which would suit your type of playing best... good luck, rugby rules!

  7. If you play center then use the 6 stud configuration.  The 8 stud is for forwards who can afford to be slower, but need more grip for scrummaging.  As a back, you want less grip so you'll be able to run, kick, and do all those fun back things.

  8. depends where you play! forwards should be going for the 8 stud kooga's bcoz they need the static grip but backs shouldn't really consider rugby boots as they are far to heavy and imobile, i would just get a pair of 6 stud footie boots!

  9. Any back should use 6 studded boats, 8 studs will slow you down significantly. If conditions are pretty bad then use longer studs. i prefer to use blades but these arent so good in wet muddy conditions

  10. in the centres i'd go with a 6 stud setup. the 8 is more for forwards like myself who need the added traction when scrumming down and rucking the ball. (all the fun things backs watch us do!)

  11. 6 cause ur a back
