Are rugby league crowd numbers a joke?

you'all think its the best sport going around why don't you go and support your teams,last round the majority of the games just scraped in 10,000 fans with a couple of exceptions attracting 27,000 and 17,000 fans-these numbers are embarrassing DON'T YOU THINK?

You're right on one hand, our crowd numbers may be a joke but our game isn't. On the other hand, your crowd numbers are great but your game is a joke! (I assume you are an AFL fan?)

No i did not watch the MANLY game i am in Melbourne so do not have that luxury and as we don't have Fox-tel i have to rely on the radio or the Internet. But when The Storm are at home and when away, if possible, i will be in the crowd enjoying every tackle.I don't care if no one else turns up it is my choice to support the game i love.But unlike some i will not criticise the AFL supporters for doing the same thing.

maybe the rugby league should go and put soap on the ball like they do in Gayfl then we get to see 30 or so men run around all night chasing a slippery ball...now that brings the fans back doesn't it:)

the nrl and its supporters have this idiotic attitude about keeping small ground as long as this happens the nrl will continue to get 5000 at a game while the afl has 70000+

Games has lost touch with fans, becoming too technical, too many rule changes over the years has made the game boring to watch.

Well Forky i agree with you, Aussie rules averages 35-40,000 people a game, it's not that Rugby Leagues a bad game or anything, it's just it's a better game on tele, the commentry, the amazing footage that you dont see at a match and also League is really a Sydney sport and not everyone in Sydney goes for the same team and their is so much stadiums so everyone is really going too different games unlike AFL where they have the MCG where almost everyone in Melbourne goes too watch and the soccfer is normally overseas, i guess the Rugby league should really worry about this type of thing before they go worrying about stuff like competing with other sports.
