Are sail boats or motor boats better?

It depends on what you want in a boat and when you go. if you want a fast boat for the not so windy summer i would chose a mortar boat, if you want a fast boat for a windy time go for the sail boat, they will probably move faster because with out the motar they are lighter. if you want a slow boat to take out in a lake to go swimming i would chose a sail boat because they are more quaint.

Better in what sense?

Environmentally, sail boats are obviously better. Also, if you run out of gas in a motor boat, you're stuck.

Sail boats require more people (depending on the size of the boat) to man due to the raising of the sails, and obviously more skill is required. Sailing can be considered "sport" by some because it requires physical activity.

Motor boats are easier to maneuver and deal with in general, and you have more control over speed.

Sailing is more peaceful, motor boats are generally for fun and excitement..

Think of biking vs. driving a car. Though sailing isn't as physical as biking, it's a similar philosophy..

and sail boats need the wind to make it move and you have to be advanced to no how to use a sail on a sail boat
