Both- but you have to be smart enough as an individual to get your education, and not be miseducated or brainwashed into thinking a certain way just because society says so.  Get your education, don't let education get you.

I think it's important to know how your feel and how others feel and not alway important to share views.  You'll find in school or work things don't change over night but your window of opportunity can and will shut just like that.  Weigh your battles.   Let dumb people stay dumb.   it's not your job to educate them.
