  1. Weather folks predict the weather and blizzards are part of the weather.  Blizzards are all about low temperatures, high winds and lots of snow.  Blizzards are usually associated with fast moving cold front displacing warm air.  Blizzards can also be formed by cold air being funneled down from moutains.   All weather forecasts are based on probabilities,

    in other words the probability of a good short range forecast is good, the probability of a long range forecast not so good.

    If you watch the weather on TV you can sometimes pick up clues as to what the weather will be.  Strong storms in Texas tend to wander up into Indiana, winter cold fronts sweeping down from Canada mean cold temperatures and possibly strong winds and maybe a blizzard.
