Are scones vegetarian?

Do they contain eggs and milk, or are they just made with flour and water??

Basic scone ingredients are: self-raising flour, caster sugar, butter and milk.

You could add pumpkin to make savoury scones and mixed dried fruit to make sweet scones

However, I have never, ever, used eggs in a scone mixture. So maybe scones are different in the USA, than they are in Australia and the UK??

For vegans, you could use vegan margarine and soy milk.

I've NEVER seen a scone recipe with eggs in it.... they will have milk or buttermilk though and butter.  Definitely vegetarian, but not vegan.

Vegetarians drink milk and eggs too, it's vegans who don't eat any animal products. So yes, scones are perfectly acceptable for vegetarians.

However, they do contain milk so are not ok for vegans.

vegetarian is when you dont eat the meat of an animal.

vegan is when you dont eat any bi products of an animal.

so technically vegetarians can eat scones!

but im not sure what scones contain so i cant help you if you are vegan.

Vegetarians may eat eggs and milk. I do believe that makes them vegetarian. About the ingredients... I have no clue what scones are made of.

Yes traditional scones are vegetarian, but not suitable for vegans. Scones contain self-raising flour, milk, butter and eggs. To make a more delicious scone add mashed pumpkin to the list of ingredients. Trust me, it's delicious.
