Question:

Are seat belts supposed to be snugged around ur hip or loose around your abdomen ?

i cannot find this answer in the driving manual and i have to take my test tomorrow

  1. snug, i took the test, got that question right... but if its not in your manual you shouldnt have to worry about it


  2. It should always be as tight as possible and as low as possible.  This gives the lowest chance of injury in an accident.

  4. They need to fit snug so that they will work correctly when the brake is applied...

  5. As all people are different, exactly where it fits is different, but the thing is you should always pull it as tight as you can.

  6. Oh my goodness! Definitely snug around the hips. Your pelvis is strong and can take the impact in an accident. Your abdomen can't. I was in a horrible accident a few weeks ago and had the belt around my abdomen. I suffered some internal injuries and am living proof that the belt NEEDS to be snug around the pelvis. Please never wear it around your abdomen, especially if you are pregnant. You might be better off not wearing it.
