I thought everything in nature came with seeds so that it can reproduce, or is it just the type of watermellon and grapes?

  1. I'm not sure I think some grapes come with out seeds but watermelon doesn't so I think grapes are not GM but watermelon is

  2. I don't know about seedless watermelon, but seedless grapes have been around from before genetic engineering.

One way to get  a seedless fruit is to graft the stem of one plant onto the root stock of another. If the two joined plants are not sexually compatible they can't produce seeds.

BTW: this is why you never see baby rose bushes growing up beside your prize tea rose bush. The root stock is not sexually compatible with the stem stock, so the flowers never produce seed.

  3. No, seedless fruit are something that can occur naturally, and this is exploited by cutting and grafting,

  4. All of the fruits, vegetables, and animals people eat today are the result of thousands of years of Genetic Modification, by way of selective breeding.

Some modern foods have been genetically modified using modern techniques, but all are far different from their wild ancestors.

  5. Grapes and watermelon are not GM crops as of yet.  The only crops approved for GMOs are soy, corn, canola, cotton, potatoes, and tomatoes.
