Are selling carbon credits a sham?

If they are not, then where is the enforcement when a company goes over their allotted credits?

I think its all a sham to sell carbon credits because there in no enforcement and if a company goes over their quoata, then they just buy more which is padding the pockets of Al Gore and the likes.

You seem to be a bit confused.

In the USA we don't have a carbon cap and trade system yet.  Companies don't have to buy credits, nor do they have carbon quotas.  Perhaps you're talking about Europe?

Since you talk about Al Gore, I can only presume you're talking about the US.  Carbon credit companies sell the credits to individuals in the US.  It's a purely voluntary endeavor.  People can buy as many or as few credits as they like.

Some carbon credit companies are better than others, and perhaps there are some which are just 'shams', but for the most part no, the industry is not a sham.

Nice to see the evening shift has arrived.  The scope and magnitude of the problem is way beyond what carbon credits could solve.  10 years ago  it might have made a difference, but not any more.  Conceivably they might buy time if coupled with other measures.

I did not know Al Gore got a commission on carbon credits.  You guys are just full of knowledge today.

A believer didn't know that Gore owns a carbon credit company????  LOL OMG....

So, we finally are shedding some light on these folks...  Now, take a good hard look at CO2 and tell me how in the world is it possible for it to cause global warming....  If you want, you can throw some science in there...  Not this refractory light spectrum c**p because I have never used a CO2 microscope, telescope, magnifying glass or heat pack.  If you have, I really would like to know the drugs you were taking at the time.
