  2. It depends on the shark. They can be oviparous, ovoviviparous, or viviparous.

  3. Some species such as Sphyrnids ( hammerheads) are viviparous and have a placental type attachment to their pups. Most species are ovoviviparous, (aplacental viviparity) and have internal "eggs " such as the tiger and sand tiger. In some cases the egg yolk is not sufficient to support the growth of the pups and in these species embryophagy and ovophagy( eating of one's siblings ) allows only one large pup from each uterus to emerge.  ( yes , sharks have paired uterii ). There are even a few species of sharks that are oviparous and lay external egges  ( such as the cat shark )
