  1. depends on which species, great whites are solitary, hammerheads swim in hundreds. cant see the hammerheads ignoring each other they must interact in some way


  2. As far as being social with other sharks it all depends on the species.  Some will only be around one another to breed and others spend their entire lives in massive schools.

    With play, that question is more up in the air.  The most I have ever seen is smaller sharks play chasing fish and other sharks through reefs.  Overall though they are not something that really "plays".  But they can be extremely social.
