Are shops going to be open on new years eve such as marks & spencers, Next and Debenhams?

I have to go out and buy stuff and i live really far, so there is no point of going if shops are not open!

I plan to visit Waterstones Book shop in Hastings tomorrow and their site states they are open normal daily hours.  I expect the rest will follow suit but be prepared for a few to close a tad early.

yeah, they will be open, but will likely close about 4 or 5, my store is closing at 5.

some stores even go as far to be open on new years day... madness!
