We are thinking of visiting Rome for a day trip on Saturday 22nd March 2008. We are obviously short on time as it is a day visit, where would you recommend visiting? We only have 12 hours in Rome between arrival and departure. Flying in and out of Rome Ciampino Airport. Will the shops be open on Saturday during this easter break? Thanks

  1. I wouldn't count on it

  2. Yes, they will be open. Most shops are open until 7-8 pm. They will be closed on Easter Sunday and most shops will be closed for 'Pasquetta' (Easter Monday).

Most shops (for clothes) you will find on the Via Nazionale - make your way towards the Vittorio Emanuele Monument in Piazza Venezia and the Via Nazionale is the main street going away from the monument to Piazza della Reppublica: - there of loads of shops right along the street and some very good bargains to be had.

Stazione termini isn't that far away - you can pick up the shuttle bus from there to take you back to Ciampino.

I've put the web site address of the shuttle bus service (should you need it) below.

    Buon viaggio!
