  1. False

  2. no because they make fun of everything and everyone not just one specific thing. and those shows r just meant ot be funny and entertain people with a few laughs, theyre obviously not to be taken seriously

  3. No...

Where did you get that from?

Although South Park has some racial slurs, I'm pretty sure its meant entirely for entertainment purposes.

  4. In my opinion, no.  They are mirrors held up to our society so that we can laugh at ourselves and our culture.  Plus, racism only exists in the motives and psyche of a person.  It is never OK to label someone as a racist until they have admitted that their actions/words/etc. are based in racism.  If I make a stereotype, I may have a million reasons for doing so, none of which are racist.

  5. yes sometimes-

but all societies are based on stereotypes- discrimination-

that's the way the world works-

    its unfair!

    but we live!

  6. I don't know about The Simpsons and South Park but The Family Guy makes fun of every type of group out there.

  7. I think they poke fun at racism and show people how ridiculous they are to behave that way.  Hopefuly people are getting the message.

  8. Racist, no. Blatantly rude and insulting to any and all races, groups, and types of people, yes.

    And friggin hilarious!

  9. actually no. they educate by showing common stereotypes that lots of people think are true. they get these things out in the open.

  10. family guy and south park can REALLY take the p out of other cultures and sometimes their own. there is some in simpsons but not as much as the later shows.

but family guy isn't something to miss, DEFINITELY a great show

    simpsons is good too.

have watched some south park but not that much - not recommended for sensitive ppl

  11. Is Obama's minister REV WRIGHT a racist? The answer is yes.

  12. No!  They make jokes about EVERYTHING.  If you can't take a joke don't watch!

  13. you can find racism anywhere you look for it

  14. i would say no because they make fun of everyone equally, if they picked on one and only one that would make them racist..

  15. Well..there are a lot of jokes that make fun of a lot of races but it's not like they're always targeting at a specific race all the time. The people who write the script probably don't care so much whether or not they're offending some people because it seems these shows are pretty popular. The jokes they make are usually just stereotypes exaggerated..so you can't take them too seriously!

  16. Racist against whom? Give a reason why you ask that question.

  17. Racy, but not racist.

  18. They make fun of everyone but I would say yes. And guess what? It's funny.

  19. i would say yes cauz they depict real life situations and as we all know racism does exist in real life situations!

  20. No, they are just disrespectful and make racist comments.

  21. There may be offensive moments in those cartoons, but I can't imagine the impact being powerful enough to affect groups of people, thus racist may not be an accurate description of the show content. I think we use offensive, racist and prejudiced interchangeably too often. Now if the shows repeatedly sent out messages about one group of people being lazy and ineffective and insisted on some negative action against that group, then maybe they would be promoting racism. From what I know South Park is highlighting societal ills in an offensive manner.

  22. Yep!

But considering that they offend EVERYONE and just not one group, does it really matter?

  23. Yes.
