    Ok, Shrimp do have gender diversity. There are female shrimp and male shrimp. You can tell which is which because the female will typically be brighter colored and fatter than the male. Also, when the female is "pregnant" she gets a bunch of little yellow dots in her abdomen - this is actually her carrying the eggs around inside her carapace. People who breed shrimp refer to this as the shrimp being "berried"

    Now, I'm not sure if you're talking about any particular species of shrimp, but they do breed roughly the same.

    I do think this would have been a better question for the Pets/fish community. ;)  


  2. No, haven't you seen the popcorn shrimp commercial? Those shrimp were clearly male and female and were eating their children
