  1. ski goggles are for Panzes go to ***** sporting goods and ask a consultant and he'll tell u that if ur good enough u don't need goggles

  2. Goggles are a requirement in snow or rain. Sun glasses work fine on sunny days.

  3. Goggles are very smart thing to have out on the slopes.  Especially if its snowy or windy.  Theres a reason why people buy them.  Its not just for the looks.  Sunglasses are only good on nice pretty days.  With sunglasses, the air goes around them and still gets in your eyes when you go fast.  They darken things too, so when its a cloudy day, you wont see very well.

  4. sunglasses are not just as good as goggles. The goggles do protect your eyes from wind burn and from snow and other droplets,  I wear a set that include my prescription eyeglasses, I also wear just glasses at the meeting area, and have the goggles ready on my helmet. Even skiing very slow, you will dry your eyes and the tear ducts may solidify some salt in them and make the pain even worse.   Get a set of goggles that fit you correctly.

  5. If you're skiing in snow, they're really necessary. If you're skiing fast, then the cold air will probably sting your eyes, and I wear glasses and they don't really help, so I don't think sunglasses will help either.

  6. I rarely wear goggles. I always have them with me, but unless it is snowing or sleeting, I never put them on.

I wear sunglasses that almost wrap around my face and fit very well against my helmet. They are polarized and have transition lenses. I can wear them in the daytime, or at night. They eliminate a lot of the flat light and glare...just the same way a lot of goggles do. They also do a very good job at protecting my eyes from the wind. I will admit that they were not cheap. $155 for just the lenses (they are prescription) and another $45 or so for the frames. I don't know if I would pay $200 for a pair of ski goggles, but I wear the sunglasses everywhere.

I think goggles are something every skier should have, but how and when you choose to use them is up to you. Some people swear by them, others like me, don't always see the need to use them. It really is a matter of personal choice.

  7. Yeah John S is high on somethin ignore him.  The other two answers are great answers and tell you everythign you  need to know, give one of them a best answer.  Oh and another reason you  need goggles, si that you just plain look g*y without goggles lol.  They're all a part of the look.

For some good goggles that arent as well known, but still great, check www.dragonalliance.com

  8. John S clearly never tried any snowsport in his life, or rode a motorcycle. Take a blow dryer and point it in your eyes full blast without the heat. Or try looking into a fan a few inches in front of your face without blinking. If it is really cold out, it is a necessity. If there is any chance whatsoever of it snowing or raining, you need the goggles. However, when it does get into the mid thirties or warmer and I am doing moguls/terrain park and not going too fast, I do go with the sunglasses sometimes. However, i strongly recommend you put some rainex or fogex on them. If you fall and snow gets on them or you start to sweat, they aren't designed the way goggles are to keep moisture out. They also fog up very easily.

  9. You need goggles. Reasons:

    1. The wind. Especially when you are moving at speed.

    2. Goggles are specially coloured to help you see the snow surface and to help in whiteout conditions.

    3. Glasses can fall off if you fall. Goggles don't.

    4. Do you like having frozen eyeballs?

    5. Do you want to look like a poser or a skier?

  10. Ski Goggles are very necessary.

    1. They help with certain conditions, Flat light, sunny days, and stormy days.

    2. It keeps your eyes blocked from the wind causing pain and dry eyes.

    3. If it is very cold, not many people know this, your tears from your eyes freeze because they are not protected. That can be very pain full
