Are social work and the education field similar career fields? How so?

Question

I'm trying to articulate how modern public education and social work may be similar career fields in the duties of teachers and social workers. I'm at a loss for words right now.

Some states allow for dual certification in the fields, as well as, just taking the state test to be certified in the education field.  I would google both fields to find its connection.
