Bad Kissingen, Bad Kreuznach, Bad Gastein? and dozens more. What have they done wrong to get such a bad name? They seem lovely to me.

  1. I really hope that this question is just a really bad joke...

EDIT: Very cute joke:) Especially about the rats in the Rathaus. That's actually the way some American tourist pronounce that word "rathouse". LOL!

  2. that's funny...and you know what? My husband is a "Bad Designer" (bathroom designer )

  3. somethings lost in translation... like that nice little town... whats it called... oh right: f**k

  4. ha ha you know..they arent bad...Bad means Spa town...!

    so infact very very good!

  5. Hm, well, lets see... OK, maybe all the guys from Bad Kissingen are really bad kissers, and everybody in Bad Kreuznach has a bad back (Kreuz = "slang" for the back in German) and you really should not be a guest anywhere near Bad Gastein?

Beats me, honestly. But to answer your question about the Rathäuser: Nope, even though we are very animal-friendly here in Germany, and it might seem convenient to keep all the rats of the town in one building, we did not quite go so far. Actually, it was the meeting place for town officials. But than again, those could and can be rats sometimes, so I guess your interpretation might be correct after all. ;))

    Greets from Germany!

@Binie: That must suck for your husband! I mean - how is he ever going to have a little self-confidence if he is always going to be a "bad" designer? ;)) *shakeshead, roleseyes* Sometimes German and English just doesn't mix that well! ;))

  6. Are you kidding? "Bad" means "SPA". Very nice towns.

But Bad Gastein is located in Austria!

  7. Hi,

    for exaemple:

The Bad Feilnbach is in the municipality reform from the original communities Feilnbach, Wiechs, Au at Bad Aibling, Dettendorf and Litzldorf. The various parts of town are old settlements, which are already in Roman times. Documended mentioned Feilnbach first time in 980 years as "Fulinpah".

Magnificent landscape, is Bad Feilnbach thanks to its mild climate like as a "Bavarian Merano." Rich mud deposits care since the turn of the century for major impact in a variety of healers suffering. On the basis of these conditions has heilklimatischen Healing by klima) Bad Feilnbach by continuous expansion and modernisation of its permanent cure and recreational facilities to a known cure and tourism community. The considerable achievements in bäderwirtschaftlichem (economically by spa) and balneologischem ( to form to spa) area to various intermediate stations (1964 appointment to the air spa with mud baths, 1969 appointment to the spa) in 1973 finally with the appointment to the bathroom appreciated. Despite the great importance of Health and tourism sector has the town but their rural character. For the approximately 170 agricultural small and medium-sized enterprises, the milk production the main source of revenue and fruit growing a not insignificant addition to taking dar.

Regards from Germany - Bavaria, sorry about my bad english.
