For example could a city like Phoenix hold the winter olympics? Or could a city like Juneau hold the summer olympics?

  1. Obviously you need the climate to cater for all the sports.

A lot of things are taken into account when determining who is to host the olympics. Climate and facilities being one of them. So i don't think cities are banned per see, but some cities will find it a lot more difficult then others to earn the support of the board that decides.

  2. Well there's no rule saying that they can't, but once arizona starts snowing i think phoenix would be a great choice.

  3. Juneau would be perfect for the summer games.  Not to hot and not to cold.  I have never heard of any cities being banned, but cities would need certain sporting venues for the winter olympics such as ski resorts that some cities could not offer.  Officially banned, no.

  4. Atlanta's joke of an Olympics will ruin any chance of a 'smaller' American city like Pheonix from hosting an Olympics.
