  1. Not necessarily, but not impossible either.

  2. Not necessarily.   Many of the children from other countries were legitimately relinquished by their birth families because of poverty, local laws, etc.   Since you're old enough to be on Yahoo Answers, I'm guessing you're at least a teenager, and were adopted quite a few years ago.   My first daughter was adopted 12 years ago from China, and at that time most of the children who were available for adoption had been given up by their families because of the one-child law there.   It's only been over the last three or four years that there have been stories about stolen babies and child trafficking in China.   The same is true for other countries with international adoption programs.

  3. Not at all.

  4. no you belong to who ever you live with and raised you.

  5. No, not at all. There are adoption rings that kidnap babies and small children and pretend to be legit adoption agencies, but the vast majority of adoptions are legal. Angelina Jolie, however, found out one of the kids she was adopting's father had been found, so she hopped on a plane and returned to the US (in the news, people, a while back). That IS kidnapping/stealing since the father and child had been separated by some issues in their country that resulted in the mother's death.

  6. No, who is saying that?

But do you know with absolute certainty that you weren't?

    Just curious.

  7. Nope but I'm saying that thousands of children are and were. Find your biological mother or relatives and ask them.   Go to Unicef.org and read about the country you were adopted from. Thousands of children adopted by US and Canadian citizens were and are kidnapped or forced to into adoption by people desiring to have children, by agency's, facilitators and attorneys making money off the business.

  8. No, but sadly there have been some instances where children have been adopted internationally through less then ethical processes.  I prefer to think that these incidents are limited to only a few countries but either way it gets a lot of press and seems to be the "subject de jour" in some discussion forums.

  9. I was stolen by ninjas from my Japanese homeland, brought to the states, and then trained to reach the ultimate level a ninja can attain.

  10. Only the ignorant people think that way.

  11. No, you may not have been.

But the adoption process in other countries is a lot different. It is much easier to steal babies from other countries.

  12. no! not at all!

i am also adopted :) i was not from another country.. but i am adopted.

but no, you were not "stolen" you were simply adopted by a family who loves, and cares about you.

i think its a blessing to be adopted!

  13. I don't think you were stolen OR adopted, "Marcus".

  14. To Forest - RUN FOREST, RUN...RIGHT OFF A CLIFF YOU MORON!!

Cases of "baby stealing" or coercion of the birth mother to give up her child, do occur, sadly.  But, the media blow that very small percentage of cases way out of proportion.

Don't feel "guilty" or "stolen".  If you are in a loving home with your adoptive parents, you are right where God wants you to be.

    Good luck.
