Are some people jealous of the Chinese for hosting such a wonderful Olympic Games?

Actually I am not jealous at all of their ability to host the Olympics they did a great job, although I did see some questionable actions but its their country and one day the people will rise up on their own and overtake the regime or maybe not that's their problem.

Bravo for China for spending so much money on a nearly flawless show.

Shame on China for spending so much money on these Olympics when it could have been used for their own suffering people they spent more on the Olympics than they spend on Education and Health Care tsk tsk.

Yeah absolutely, it is so envious how the Chinese blatently cheat their way to winning gold in the Olympics, 2 chinese boxers winning gold for the first time ever !! Maybe the Chinese should have paid more attention to fair play than "spectacular firework displays" and  all that showboating at the opening ceremony, it is a sporting event after all and I for one think it was a joke from start to finish. So to answer your question, NO people are not jealous!

Not really, the only people to be jealous is people from the UK (because of London 2012) but they shouldn't be jealous because they haven't even done there's yet!

I am really tired of some people who incessantly whined about China.

Of course Americans mostly, since I am in America and watched their media.  Last night Jay Leno took a stab when interviewing Nastia.  Nastia also said that she does not know if Chinese girls are underage, but Americans always play fair and follow the rules.  What's that supposed to mean?  That Chinese do not play by the rules!!!  Yeah, Americans always play by the rules, by invading Iraq unilaterally, by doping, by supplying arms to Georgia which it uses to kill thousands of people in South Ossetia.  Supported Saddam againt Iran, until Saddam stopped listening to US anymore, in which case, the US invaded Iraq.  Supported Osama Bin Laden against Russia, and now it is hunting Bin Laden.  Americans are full of sh*t.

Oh yeah, stop talking about human rights, when you have thousands jailed in Guantanamo bay for years, without trial and without legal rights.  And some of these people actually were taken overseas.  We're talking about abducting people from other sovereign countries here.

This is poor sportsmanship behaviour, accusing other people of cheating without solid evidence.  Really sounds like sour grapes to me.

And when asked about why Nastia got silver, and that the other guest said, it's because of Commie gobbledigook, Nastia failed to mention that the rules ARE NOT MADE BY CHINA, but made by IOC and FIG.  The judges aren't even Chinese.

I really wish that someone would have the nerve to say these things to my face, oh how they will quickly realize that it's the worst day of their lives.

I'm upset with China and it's not about jealousy. They killed cats and dogs. They kicked people out of their homes. They have a history of human rights abuses. Need I go on?

Let me count the ways I am so jealous of China.....I get to work in an air-conditioned office and earn $80,000 a year....average worker in China gets stuck in a field for 12 hours a day, and only gets $4 to show for it.  I have healthcare insurance, I get paid time off for emergencies, I have straight teeth and both of my eyes work 100%.  I had steak with crab cakes and asparagus for dinner last night, after eating Italian for lunch, and pancakes w/fruit for breakfast (3 meals...count 'em...TRES!).

Yea, I'm super jealous of the Chinese.

Edit***  To Richard above me, I have zero credit card debt, my car has been paid off for 3 years now, and I have $55,000 sitting in a savings account at Wells Fargo, been meaning to move it into a C.D. or something more long term.  I currently do not own a house, I rent an apartment for $885 a month, but will be shopping for a new house in the near future.

I've noticed that most of the questions geared towards jealousy, chinese supremecy etc. are all posted by one person...

seriously get over urself, use this like it's intended to be used, and most of all show a little respect because I and many other americans have stood up and said just leave it alone when people were questioning the ages of your gymnists, etc. I wouldn't mind if you would show a little respect yourself and move on.
