  1. Honestly, all plastics are hamful. None are less harmful except when you use things over and over - and then it's just because you aren't throwing it away every day or even every year, like a cup in the kitchen or a regular washable water bottle.  When you use bottled water, you throw away like 10 bottles a day, that's why it's worse - even if you recycle them they can only be recycled once.  They have started making silverware and plates and even cups out of corn products that are completely biodegradable, but they haven't figured out how to make something that will hold liquids for a long time without biodegrading, or hot liquids (they melt the cups).  For example, if you tried to bottle coke in this product, the coke would eat through the bottle in a few days at most and so there is no shelf life for that kind of thing.

Look on this website to figure out what you can do to help:

Bottom line, get a refillable bottle and refill it - we started using a filter instead of bottled water - it doesn't taste the same, but at least we don't go through 30 bottles a day as a family!
